It is possible to have a head knowledge about, a basic understanding of the gospel, but not the life-changing experience of knowing Jesus Christ and being filled with His spirit. This is what the Apostle Paul found when he first came to Ephesus, a group of people who believed things about Jesus, but had not yet received Him and His Holy Spirit. Pastor Brian says that this happens to this day, and describes the abundant life that comes when a person completely submits to God.
